(q) why should people listen to your show?
what i wanna say, is that somehow their minds will be expanded, and that all the mysteries to life will suddenly become clear to them. but in reality, i think self-enlightenment like that comes more from listening to a show like what makes you so dangerous? or ontologic...

occasionally i have interviews... like la symphony, her space holiday, hive/ p.e.a.c.e./ daddy kev, kavet the catalyst *when he dropped off livicated, toki (sis), omega6 dropped some tracks once, and bone interviewed emanon and the icons during my show when i was out... and i think that makes the show worth listening to...

i'd also like to say that listening to theabstractbeatworkshop, is guaranteed to help you lose some weight! (just be sure you're near a toilet when the show starts!)

(q) what animal most characterizes you and why?
keanu reeves as neo in matrix revolutions. (but not the previous two matricies.) definitely. sometimes he comes across as a big dope, but he's probably gonna do something cool by the end of the movie... or maybe just die. and there's gotta be a sequel? well, maybe not this time...he also wore a lot of cool black clothes, and flew through the air with his fist raised ((fight the power))... sometimes i do that too. but mostly, i just chill.

(q) what do you think people should do while listening to your show?
1)grab an envelope, and write on the front of it:
joan9
ktuh fm honolulu
2445 campus road
hemenway #203
honolulu, hi 96822

2)find any spare dollahs you have lying around the house.. you know. the ones with jackson or franklin on em are best...

3)put these spare dollahs into the envelope... be sure to seal it well.

4)drop it in a mail box and smile with the self-realizing knowledge that... you helped someone today

5) if you have no spare dollahs, feel free to enclose pictures of your pets! *i will sell beaker the pictures of you pets. unless they are bunnies. then I will have my webmaster post them online! yay!

(q) list three top people who have influenced you:
the cast and crew of sesame street-thanks for teaching me my basic morals and values as a child; chris rock- because he's a genius, and you KNOW this!; jack klugman- the man behind oscar madison and quincy m.e. nuff said.

(q) what do you think of your callers?
first of all, let me start with a shameless plug:
**shameless plug: http://ktuh.org/abstract/

i think i have five sets of callers. 1) the ones who only like the beginning half of my show, 2) the ones who only like the end half (hip hop) of my show, 3) the ones who actually like both, and 4) the ones who are just tuning in just because it's on. 5) callers who hate my show, but are somehow unable to change the channel, and decide to call-in, hoping that... since they can't change the channel... maybe they can change what's playing!

for callers in the first category, why don't you like hip hop!? heh.

for callers in the 2nd category-hip hop is cool, but if you open your ears real well.. anything can become a part of hip hop. don't hate.

for the callers in the 4th category: howzit!?

for the callers in the third category you are probably the most like me, cause i do think music is a big indicator of what kind of person you are... and so you scare me the most, and you are probably scared of me too in some weird way. thats cool. i bet you dont call much-which is also cool, cause you know i understand that you are shy, like me, and cause you're just gonna let me do my thing. and you probably like all kinds of music, and for that reason, are probably very strange, but very understanding, and in no need to let the world know what you think. cause in the end you know it doesn't matter afterall.. and you should just to do your own thing... and i wanna thank you somehow, even though you don't really need it. but thanks for giving all kinds of music a chance. cause chances are, you like a lot of different people, and we'd get along real good- but we won't ever contact each other.. cause we're too busy, or cause we can't meet someone over the radio that way-(it's kinda weird).. so maybe we'll write e-mails, or maybe we'll just pop in a cd and forget about the whole thing.

for the callers in the 5th category: you are possibly a procrastinator, and probably don't have a remote for your tuner. don't worry-it'll be over soon, and on sundays, chappelle show is on comedy central! yay! i'd also recommend you consume some alcoholic beverages and try dancing around a little. if you flicker the lights off and on, you might start to enjoy the show more! drink responsibly, and remember: i'd like to be drinking and watching chappelle show too!
